Joey Logano didn't dominate the Dollar General 300 at Charlotte Motor Speedway like he did two weeks ago at Dover, but the end result was the same. Logano got his eighth win of the season in his 18th start of the season. Logano has a 44% win record on the year.

His closest competitor in the closing stages of the race was his 2013 teammate in the Cup Series, Brad Keselowski. Every driver had to pit for fuel around 10 laps to go. Keselowski's gas man did not properly engage the fuel can on their stop so now gas went into the car. Keselowski ran out of gas just a few laps later.

Kevin Harvick, Elliott Sadler, Kyle Busch, and Denny Hamlin rounded out the top-five.

Friday night was the first race that both Harvick and Angela Cope were on the same race track since mid-July at New Hampshire Motor Speedway when Cope cost Harvick the win. Cope voed that she could out-perform Harvick if they were in equal equipment, but she didn't even last a lap tonight. She ran into the back of Joe Nemechek on the initial start of the race which punctured the radiator.

A lap after the ensuing restart Sam Hornish Jr. and Justin Allgaier made contact exiting turn four. Hornish was cleared by his spotter and cut across Allgaier's nose.
