Matt Kenseth notched his first win since joining Joe Gibbs Racing in the Kobalt Tools 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Kenseth led 42 laps. He led one more lap than his age. Kenseth turned 41-years-old on Sunday.
He had to hold off a strong charge from Kasey Kahne over the last 20 laps to win. Kenseth was on older tires but was able to keep Kahne at bay.
Kahne led a race-high 114 laps, but he had to settle for second.
Brad Keselowski started on the pole thanks to last season's owners points after qualifying was rained out on Friday. He led early but eventually dropped back after dropping a lugnut on a pit stop. The defending champion rallied back though to finish third.
