NASCAR: 2014 Chase will feature some surprises as well as usual suspects
Another NASCAR Sprint Cup series season is here. This year with all the twists to qualifying and the points system; 2014 is shaping up to be one of the best seasons in the last 10 years.
Here are my predications for the 2014 Chase for Championship.
Jeff Gordon- Gordon will try and complete the “Drive for 5” in 2014. If he wins it all does he hang up the helmet?
Tony Stewart- He is back! After missing the Chase last season after well documented injury. Now Stewart is as hungry as ever.
Kevin Harvick- That new team he joined for 2014 was formally the 39 team. Harvick is as happy and content as I think we ever seen him. He will be a force in the Chase.
Jimmie Johnson- Can #6pack make it #se7en championships?
Greg Biffle- He really likes this new points system. The Ford program has been behind on the new Gen-6 car but Biffle will carry the RFR banner in 2014.
Kasey Kahne- I always say Kahne will win a bunch of races and challenge for the title. Kahne wins a bunch of races but never can seem to put it together in the Chase. Is 2014 the year?
Matt Kenseth- He was the bridesmaid last year to Johnson but Kenseth won’t suffer the second place curse in 2014.
Paul Menard- My bold pick #1 in my Chase field.
Clint Bowyer- 2013 is behind them and Bowyer is looking to find victory lane again after failing to win a race in 2013.
Dale Earnhardt, Jr. - If Earnhardt can win a few races in 2014 and continue the consistency of 2013 he just might win the title and send his crew chief off with a championship.
Kyle Busch- He can win in anything but he has yet to win a Sprint Cup title. That could change in 2014 for Busch.
Kurt Busch- Second chances are hard to come by in this sport. The elder Busch is making the most of his and will make the Chase in 2014.
Carl Edwards- I never thought that Edwards had gotten over the 2011 Chase. The hangover ends in 2014.
Denny Hamlin- He is out to prove the doubters wrong in 2014. His hot start to 2014 is doing just that. Hamlin makes the Chase, any questions?
Marcos Ambrose- This pick is probably not so bold considering he can win on the road courses. Still don’t be surprised if he pulls off a win on an oval.
Ryan Newman- Here is another driver with a new team in 2014. Newman is another driver who is looking to prove some people wrong.
